Dick Gilligan currently serves as a Senior Vice President for Science and Technology Corporation, Belcamp Md. with responsibility for contracts at Aberdeen Md, Dugway Proving Ground and the U.S. Coast Guard.  He is also a retired US Army Colonel with 30 years of service in field artillery, acquisition and military test and evaluation, having served as commander or test director of two major proving grounds. Jay M. Parker is Distinguished Professor and Major General Fox Conner Chair of International Security Studies at the College of International Security Affairs, National Defense University in Washington, D.C. From September 2011 to July 2016, Dr. Parker served as chair of the college’s Department of International Security Studies. His professional academic experience includes service on the faculties of Georgetown, George Washington, and Columbia universities. Meet Jay

Rebecca D. Patterson is the Associate Director of the Center for Security Studies and the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University and Professor of the Practice of International Affairs in the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service.  Her research and teaching interests include civil-military relations, nation-building, peacekeeping, and post-conflict economics.  Meet Rebecca

Laura Junor, PhD

Treasurer

Dr. Junor is the Director, Research and Strategic Support at the National Defense University, Institute for National Strategic Studies.  She had previously served as the Director for the Center for Strategic Research (CSR) and holds the academic rank of University Professor at NDU.  As Director of INSS, she oversees five research centers and a publishing unit that provide direct analytic support to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Francis Park, PhD

Secretary

Dr. Park is a historian at the Joint History Office in the Office of the Director of the Joint Staff and an Army Strategist (FA 59).  After commissioning in 1994 as an armor officer, he served primarily in armored and light airborne cavalry assignments.  He was designated an Army strategic plans and policy officer in 2004.  His operational assignments include service as a campaign planner for the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) in Operation Iraqi Freedom, and for Combined/Joint Task Force-101 in Operation Enduring Freedom.  Meet Francis

Susan Bryant, PhD

Executive Director

Susan Bryant is a 1989 graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. She currently works as the Executive Director of SEI. She also  teaches Grand Strategy and Military History at Georgetown University and Defense Policy Making at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies and acts as  a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for National Strategic Studies at National Defense University. Meet Susan
